I hated the ending - there was no ending.. such a build up all the way thru then nothing.... sorry, I don't know what the buzz was all about. Just didn't do anything for me.?

It was rendered in a highly realistic way, and in reality we rarely understand why such things happen - we don't have a bird's-eye-view and a scientist's understanding of global events as they happen. Most of us would find ourselves as powerless as the families in the book so the author accurately captured how limited the characters' understanding of their own situation would be, especially in the moment.(less)
