Goodreads asked C.D. Storiz:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

C.D. Storiz I'm sure you've heard this before... but just write. Make time for yourself and for your craft. Carve out at least a half hour each day to make an outline, edit, or write from a prompt. If you can write more, even better.

And READ! I'm amazed how many writers claim that they don't have time to read. Are you kidding me? The best authors are the authors who are also avid readers and read not just from their own genre but are open to reading other genres as well. A good reader makes a better writer.
