Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

C.D. Storiz When I wrote L'escritoire, which appears in the anthology, Loathsome Voyages, I was sitting at my desk thinking about the scrolls on the legs of the desk and the color of the stain. Then, I thought, what if the color of the stain was from someone's blood? And the story just came to me, just like that. My writing desk is NOT made with the blood of anyone (at least not that I know of). But it is a replica of an antique writing desk.
