Mind if I make a comment? Two of the joys of my life have been introducing the VSaga to my now-adult son and having a shared shorthand for expressing ideas, and introducing the series to my husband! Having run out of paperback editions for him to read (I blame my son..) we started listening to the audiobooks whenever we're in the car together. What a delightful way to spend quality time!

I was looking at the cover of "The Physicians of Vilnoc" and realized it is difficult to have two hands in the position shown. The best I could find is two people standing side by side facing opposite directions (you could also have someone standing besides someone hung by their heels). Was this a deliberate choice?

A question about the Five Gods world: I would assume that each soul is taken up by one God and one God alone. Has there ever been a case of a soul being given special honors by more than one God? I can think of a man who once bore the miracles for two different Gods, and was the cause of a restoration of something significant to a third. I can picture those funerary rights as being far from the norm.
