Am I the only one who found Kate's back story completely irrelevant? I don't think it served any purpose at all, in fact removing it from the narrative has 0 impact on the story.

Emma I think that it helps because it helps explain her anxiety and how she thinks that everyone she runs into is just a creep and reminds her of George Daniels. She does seem to go for all of the guys that have issues tho lol.
Swapna It is relevant when Kate admits to Detective James that she is a psycho-magnet.
And she doesn't learn her lesson from that experience and again falls for a creep like Alan at the end.
