Katie Scarlett I would love to hear more on this because I did not feel it was answered definitively. They do not want James around so he is told his child died but I do not feel we know for sure and if one child is his is it Johnnie? James seems to dismiss Sarah as having any resemblance to him.
Karen Neeley They are not actually twins. One child is Alys's, the other is Alinor's.
Beth I agree that Johnnie is James' son with Alinor, and Alys, (abandoned on her wedding day but already pregnant) had Sarah.

H Sh I wonder if they are both Alinor's and Alys miscarried.
Sandra Jackson - Alawine The twins both belong to Alys. Alinor miscarried her baby.
Tina Gordon It is left open-ended. It is implied that Alinor miscarried, but it is never specifically addressed. I think it is a flaw in the second book. Hoping it is resolved in book 3.

Fleur My take on that is that the twins are Alys'. Alinor miscarried.
