I really loved your idea of the Vampire Gods. It really stuck with me. How did you come up with the Vampire Gods? You're an amazing writer (: Thank you so much for writing something that has become dear to my heart.

Darren Shan I took a sociologist's approach to my vampires, and tried to figure out what sort of a way people would structure their lives if they lived for hundreds of years, had to drink blood, only came out at night, etc. Pretty much every group of humans has invented their own gods and belief systems over the generations, so I figured the vampires would be no different, and would probably have gods similar to other warrior tribes, such as the Vikings.
