What’s the best thing about being a writer?

Tank Gunner The best thing I find about being a writer is enjoying the characters I've created who take over my story and tell it their way. Sometimes my characters take my story in a direction I never intended or thought of. Often a minor character becomes a major player who guides the development of my story. Characters I create who come to life in my readers' eyes and minds are the best thing for me about being a writer.
