Was the Algerian bluffing or would he pull the trigger on his caliber .45 automatic to get me off the Citroen fender parked in the taxi stall in Pigalle?

I write.
I walk.
I go to the grocery store,
I listen to people talk and watch their movements and expressions, I make mental notes.
I listen to my muse.
I think about character and story development.
I listen to my characters.
I write.
What I write during writer's block is easily edited and rewritten to fit the story.

The best thing I find about being a writer is enjoying the characters I've created who take over my story and tell it their way. Sometimes my characters take my story in a direction I never intended or thought of. Often a minor character becomes a major player who guides the development of my story. Characters I create who come to life in my readers' eyes and minds are the best thing for me about being a writer.

Reverend Ripple$ Building Fund.
It is a story of a too righteous preacher who earns his just deserts.
The Right Reverend Robert Ripples had enjoyed skimming the abundant deposits of the building fund of his Church of Heavenly Inspiration and Perpetual Spirit (CHIPS) for his own personal use, but prayer request contributions from his East Texas radio audience and prayer cloth sales to those faithful listeners only fueled his lust for more. Fearful his nefarious ways were about to be discovered by the three-person church audit committee headed up by Momma Julia Perkins, Reverend Ripple's prayer for extrication is surprisingly answered. Two church members who are on their way to see Elvis Presley perform at the Cotton Bowl are enlisted by Reverend Ripples to carry out the delivery of a satchel full of money to his investors in Dallas. Boudreaux "Boo" Ballard and Clementine "Clem" Caine unwittingly become participants in a scheme to cover up his embezzlement by agreeing to bring thousands of dollars of building fund cash to the Reverend's purported business partners - who are stiffed by the double-cross. Held hostage for the missing debt payment, and a piled-on ransom for more, the couriers turn to Elvis for rescue.

My inspiration comes from a desire to entertain. I write to keep my brain and body active.

Like many writers, ideas come from the air we breathe. My most recent published book, The Redeemer, is a companion to Palomino and Porky Baycann since many characters appear in all three novels. The idea for the book I'm working on now, Reverend Ripple$ Building Fund, due summer 2021, came from a TV ad on a local channel.
