Goodreads asked Christopher P. Mooney:

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Christopher P. Mooney Whisky for Breakfast, recently published by Bridge House (November 2020), includes thirty-five short stories that I'd been working on for about five years, so it's a varied collection of plots and character. Where do I get the ideas from? I've always found this a difficult question to answer because the truth is that, in many cases, I don't really know. Certainly, it's not possible for me to fully articulate the when, what, how and why of it. Sometimes, for example, something as simple as a particular word - either read or overheard - will spark an idea for a story and/or a character; sometimes I'll come up with the title first and work from that. The process is rarely the same.
