Goodreads asked Anna M. Elias:

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Anna M. Elias It came to me one day when I went to the bookstore to work on a script project. I had never thought myself a book author, since scripts were my most familiar form of writing, but this idea had been swirling in my head for a couple of years, and it took shape this one day. Like divine inspiration, this familiar voice in my head said, "Pick up your pen." I opened my notebook, picked up my pen, and out poured this amazing story -- almost in full. It was long, too! Though visual, I knew it had to be a novel, and I knew it was a trilogy. I've always had a passion for social justice and equality, and I've always loved sci-fi and thrillers. This story really brought those together.
