Goodreads asked R.L. Wood:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

R.L. Wood Step one: Close your eyes and make a wish to be an author. Step two: Put your pen to paper or fingers to a keyboard. Step 3: Grant yourself the wish

*If you write one page a day for a year, you would have a rather long novel.

*If an idea strikes you in the middle of the day or the middle of the night there are apps for your phone you can use to record your voice, so you don't forget what great idea you came up with for your story. Or you can keep small notepads around to write in. I love going through my old notepads, they conjure up so many things I have yet to write into a story.
