Most times, it's making the time to sit down and write. Other times, I'll ride or walk out to an interesting place with a notebook and pen. Being somewhere different can be very inspiring as long as I have a little peace.
Where to go? It depends on what I'm writing. Where is the best place to write a graveyard scene or a scene taking place in the woods?

Step one: Close your eyes and make a wish to be an author. Step two: Put your pen to paper or fingers to a keyboard. Step 3: Grant yourself the wish
*If you write one page a day for a year, you would have a rather long novel.
*If an idea strikes you in the middle of the day or the middle of the night there are apps for your phone you can use to record your voice, so you don't forget what great idea you came up with for your story. Or you can keep small notepads around to write in. I love going through my old notepads, they conjure up so many things I have yet to write into a story.

I could write about anything, so I never truly have "writer's block". That doesn't mean it's always good. I just start writing anything that comes to mind. Sometimes it's bad and needs to be thrown in the 'to be deleted pile'. Most of the time it leads to good things.
Another great way to get the creative juices flowing is to go for a walk and just day dream.
If you can't get out of the house, try taking a picture walk of images that interest you. Maybe you will find something that strikes your fancy and conjures up ideas?
