I know these aren't real characters and she says they weren't even based on anybody, but I'm wondering if there is any record of a person or person's stealing immigrant children and sending them away on orphan trains. I have searched the internet quite a bit and though I found some Q&A's with the author, I couldn't find information on this. (?)
