Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Eva Hnizdo My newest book, written in English is a family saga about 3 generations of partly Jewish, partly Caribbean family. It is about identity, emigration, racism. It's also about a difficult mother-daughter relationship. All topics which touch my life. I used my family stories, fictionalised, and although the main character is not me, she is close to what I am, in her life, thinking, emotions. Writing the book made me come to terms with my family Holocaust history and with my relationship with my mother. The book " WHY DIDN'T THEY LEAVE?" will be published in September 21.
