In The Shadow Throne there is a good amount of battle. I think a lot of the attack strategies are very unique and original. How do you come up with new battle strategies when writing? Are they inspired by real attacks and real wars?

Jennifer A. Nielsen Hi Karis, it was my imagination combined with strategies from "The Art of War" by Sun Tzu. It's a fascinating book that the Carthyan King would have studied thoroughly.
