What is an "aspiring writer"? One writes, or one does not write. If the question is geared toward how to become a famous writer, talk to a famous writer (I'm far from one of those). If the question is geared toward how to be recognized as someone who writes among a peer group, I suppose just produce some writing and gain consensus from that group.
