How do you get inspired to write?

Wayne Grant The truth is, this trilogy, beginning with Longbow, began as a serial bedtime story for my two sons years ago. They kept asking for more stories about this squire I had invented and, after a time, I could not just keep spinning these tales off the top of my head. So I started writing down each episode to read to the boys--one per week. After several months I looked back and it suddenly occurred to me that these "episodes" in the story were chapters in a book. No one was more surprised than me at that revelation. So I then took it on with a bit more serious intent and completed Longbow as a novel.
