Michael J. Sullivan
Hey Jessica, thanks for asking. I'm thinking it will be released around the end of 2021. Right now I'm writing Esrahaddon, and I'm hoping to have that book (which is the last in a series) wrapped up by the end of the year. I'll probably have to do a little review/editing on Nolyn (first book of Rise and Fall in the early part of 2021. But that book will pretty much be "wrapped" by March. That's when I'll start writing Drumindor.
All that said, I don't want to give a definitive date until the book is written (you never know if you are going to run into some "bumps" when writing. But the outline is done and I like that the connections with some of the other books that are being added. Putting in Easter eggs is one of my favorite things to do!
Once I start writing, I'll update the status on the book so people know it's underway.
I'm glad you are excited for it - if you haven't already, please consider adding Drumindor to your shelf. Goodreads will send you an email when it is released.

In my experience a good small to midsize publisher can be quite helpful, but I've wondered if, or when, authors should branch out? When in an author's career would it be a good idea to query the big 5 or an agent with a new book (as in, when are they likely to really consider your work since they take so few authors early in their careers)? Or would you advise going that route at all?

Hey Michael - I've been tracking the Death of Dulgath kickstarter and now the Paypal options you have for backers. I love all the stuff that you have there, but my format of choice is definitely Audiobooks these days. I haven't jumped in so far because I didn't see and Audio version. Is this due to contracts (you posts on the subject have been very enlightening) or another reason?
