Goodreads asked Elizabeth Horton-Newton:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Elizabeth Horton-Newton Don't give up. If you have an idea go with it. Write a brief outline of the idea. Remember nothing is written in stone; you will probably make a lot of changes on your way. Carry a small notebook with you or use your smartphone to take notes. You might be riding the subway or bus, sitting in a restaurant, waiting on line at the grocery checkout and have a great idea. Keep it beside your bed at night. I can't count the number of times I've awakened with a line, a paragraph, a fresh take on something. Set aside a period of time every day to sit down and write. Eventually things will start to come together.
