Anyone else not enjoy "Dune Messiah" as much as "Dune"? I'm not sure. Really I didn't understand the concept of jumping 12 years after the ending of "Dune". I didn't enjoy it nearly as much. I'm glad that others had a better experience than me. Anyone else experiencing these same feelings?

Found the book very dull and self-important. Almost nothing actually happens, which would be fine if the dialogue, the prose, or the themes were compelling, but they're just not. At least not compelling enough to carry the whole book with hardly any actual advancement of the plot.(less)
