Anyone else not enjoy "Dune Messiah" as much as "Dune"? I'm not sure. Really I didn't understand the concept of jumping 12 years after the ending of "Dune". I didn't enjoy it nearly as much. I'm glad that others had a better experience than me. Anyone else experiencing these same feelings?

I was very confused why we did a huge time jump and skipped over the jihad, continued struggle between Atreides and Harkonnin, battle with the emporer, and Paul taking over the universe. That seemed like a much more interesting story and the events there impacted every single character in this and even had them constantly referencing back to them. Why not tell that story? (less)
