Adam Gulledge The best answer I can give is because Alex has mostly come around to sharing a kill with the family that caused his lycanthropy, and lead to someone's death, if by the first epilogue he's feeling down about them moving away, then he's formed a quality and worthwhile relationship with them.

Otherwise, I can't see any of his friends or family wanting to have anything to do with Shane and his family.
