I really enjoyed the book, but towards the end it became rather too convoluted for me, especially the part about John and Penny. Anyone care to enlighten me?

I found it hard to keep track of all the bodies by the end too. My last count came to either 10 or 12... but I may have miscounted as I included Bernard and his wife, who weren't murdered and the nun who committed suicide. (less)
