Daphne Holkamp asked Lucinda Riley:

Hi! First of all I am totally in love with the seven sisters series and really look forward to the 7th book! Can't wait! I have 2 questions if I may: 1. Do you visit the places and then get inspired by the things you learn there or do you search for a strong female historical figure and then visit the place she was from? 2. (follow up) How much of it is historically correct?

Lucinda Riley Hi Daphne,

I'm thrilled you're excited for 'The Missing Sister' -- you can pre-order now, for the May 27th release date. I do visit all the places I write about -- I try to spend as much time as I can in the country to really get a feel for local life. I do a lot of my research via books, but also meeting people in the locations, who tell me about the history, and from there the characters and the story form in my mind.

A lot of my books are based in true history, and I take a great deal of time to make sure that the details are correct... but of course, the books are still fictional, and exploration of 'what if...'

You can find out more about the true stories behind the books at www.lucindariley.com where I've written about my research.
