How did Adam not realize Kelly was already dead when he left that night? It was described as such a gruesome murder so it almost seemed like a plot hole to me... thoughts?

My favorite: allowing the defense attorney to walk around the crime scene and give her the opportunity to gather evidence there! And there was the part where the defense attorney demanded - and got to watch - a suspect interview. Did the author interview any attorneys before writing this?
I'm glad some people enjoyed this, but for me, the inaccuracies, inconsistencies and over the top poor writing was too much. (less)
