Do you have any plans on what to write after the Warrior Bards series? Also, who’s your favourite sister in Wildwood Dancing? There are a lot of correlations of them with the Bennet sisters, and I’m curious whether it’s intentional or not? But then personality wise they are quite different- like the quiet but persistent will of Tati compared to the “forgetting” of Jane. :-)

Great question, Sorcha! I'm still thinking about what to write next. I need some thinking time, and then a chat with my agent. I love the Warrior Bards characters, including some new characters who join the story in Book 3, so there may be possibilities there (not to extend the series, but perhaps to develop a new series in the same setting.) No plans to skip a generation again!
Favourite sister in Wildwood - a tie between Jena and Paula. I can see some parallels with the Bennet sisters, though Paula is not really like Mary! I think there are some echoes of Little Women, which was one of my favourite books when young. The parallels would be Meg/Tati, and Jo/Jena, as well as probably Amy/Iulia. In my first version of Wildwood Dancing there was another sister (the character who became Iulia had a twin.) The publisher's editor made me reduce the number of sisters.

My favorite of your works is "Flame of Sevenwaters." I was burned at age 2 and have scars on my face and right hand, so I relate to Maeve a lot. I needed surgery so that I could use my hand. I've dealt with people's cruelty as well as my own self-doubt. I wanted to ask if you had done research about burns and medieval treatments when writing about Maeve. Was Liadan's treatments based in historical medical practices?
