Daughter of the Forest made me seriously consider writing for a living, which I'm now doing, in the hopes that I could write characters like that. Not to mention rewriting much-loved fairy tale, which you are the master of. Thanks for your inspiration! I guess my question could be: have you any plans for other fairy tales to make over?

Juliet Marillier Hi Emily. I wish you all the very best with your own writing. I have plenty of favourite fairy tales and I'm sure I will write novels and/or short stories built around some of them in the future, as well as using tropes and themes from fairy tales in my writing in general. I have just finished writing a longish short story based on East of the Sun and West of the Moon, sort of turned upside down, and I'm hoping it will be published in an anthology at some point.

My question is a little silly, but I hope you don't mind. I want to get a tattoo of "mo cridhe" because of Well of Shades and I was wondering if you made the conscious choice of using that spelling instead of "mo chridhe"?
