I was wondering: does the lack off punctuation mean anything? It is holding me back from reading this book, to be honest. Anyone else experienced this? And do you get used to it while reading?

The returns at the end of each sentence give it a prose-poem feel, and though it may seem unfamiliar to begin with, I found that I soon got used to it. It does make the book shorter than it seems, too.(less)
