I was wondering: does the lack off punctuation mean anything? It is holding me back from reading this book, to be honest. Anyone else experienced this? And do you get used to it while reading?

IvanOpinion If anyone would otherwise stop reading this due to the punctuation, you may like to try the audiobook. The lack of punctation is not noticeable at all (at least not to me).
Caren The first time I picked up the book, I only got about 10 pages in and was too distracted by the lack of full stops and quotation marks. But the second time I picked it up, I was immediately enthralled and kind of forgot about them and couldn't put the book down. I think our brains have a way of adjusting to something like this pretty quickly.
Ian Saville Actually, there is punctuation in the book, just no full stops (periods). The returns at the end of each sentence give it a prose-poem feel, and though it may seem unfamiliar to begin with, I found that I soon got used to it. It does make the book shorter than it seems, too.
Denise It helps to read it as if it were an epic poem.
Paula D I could not get past a few chapters without having periods at the end of sentences (but that’s just me , my mom was a schoolteacher so I think I’m just used to proper punctuation). Maybe she has a reason for it ? I just couldn’t see it and moved on to another book. 🤷🏻‍♀️
