Jennifer A. Nielsen Hi Reyna, I'm so glad you're writing! Right now, you're exactly where you should be - focused on writing the book. Complete it and make it the best it can possibly be. That is the art of what you are doing. Once you have mastered the art, you can focus on the business - the agent, publisher bit. There is as much to learn about this end as there is about the art, which means there's not much I can offer you in this format. But for now, I'd say this: It's always about the writing. Make it the best it can be and it will draw the attention of the agent or publisher. So keep writing and good luck!
