GrannyLee yes--her credibility was destroyed with that lie at the end. Throughout the entire book, Lexi was a person with a conscience, and pretty much truthful. This was a strange twist for me.

I read it to mean they were lying all along - they DIDN’T leave the syndicate after all - I didn’t think that worked for the book in the slightest!

Barbara Elsborg When I first read it, I took it at face value and was miffed. It didn't fit with Lexi's character at all and that made me rethink. I now believe it was making us think of what might have happened had they all won. Would things still have fallen apart in the way they did? When you think about the relationships .... they probably would but in a different way. I like the ending more when I think of it this way.
