Have you ever read or heard of the book series, Fid's Crusade, by David H. Reiss? I'm asking because the main characters in both your series are very similar: tragic, self-deprecating men with fantastic power who try to do what they think is best.
Garon Whited
No. This is the first I've heard of it. Although this is not the first time someone has suggested Eric is like another character! I'm starting to Tragic, Powerful Guy is an archetype.
But I'll see if I can find "Fid's Crusade."

Hey Garon! I'm on book 2 of the series, and literally everyone i have grown to care for (Minus Erik) have died and been replaced. I really love your style of writing, and i love the world and magic systems you have created. However, i was wondering if the characters introduced from books 3-6 stick around? I've reached a point where i don't form any attachments to Erik, as i expect them to die before the book ends.

I find your series amazing, sometimes a little slow for my taste but it always seems to be for a good reason. I love the idea of the constant problem solving of an alien world through the biased eyes of a human science lover. My question relayes to all mentioned science/presented concepts: is it all actual proven/shown to be most probable theory? If so, it's even better. Cant wait for book 5.

In nightlord, shadows, why did you make it so sad about travis, i am really bummed, you practically forgot about him, even if Eric mentioned him from time to time, i always thought he was going to be made nighlord or something, and the tombstone "I waited as long as i could" damn i want to cry just thinking about it, did you always planned it that way? or just i dont know, fit with the plot/story/mood you where in?
