Of all the creatures of the night that you have come to know and make allegiance with, which do you think would be the best fit for a 'Portal Room Guardian'? My infernal centipede demon keeps vomiting lava all over the room and ruining the carpet leading in/out of the portal. When my guests arrive, I want them to see luxury THEN destruction, not the reverse! I don't think they're a good fit and need a replacement.

I have always thought you want one tiny Kobold with 2 hit points. That way guests arrive, get their minds blown, and are in no shape to resist as you inflict the rest of your plan upon them.
