At first, the book concept came from a horrible nightmare I had of an explosion with the death of my family but when I started working as a student-teacher at a middle school. I started thinking of ways to make that nightmare into a story that could relate to the amazing young adults and the struggle of growing up, they inspired a great story that I am truly proud of.
