I wondered this too! He never turned up again after he vanished from the search party, but he also didn't turn up dead. There's a continuity error earlier in the book too, where Duncan and Pete rescue Hannah from the bog but then later Duncan says he and Femi did it. I thought that would turn out to be a significant lie, but now I'm thinking Pete was a late addition to the book, or at least to the wedding party, and just wasn't woven in fully. (There are other times he's just the drug dealer and the guys call him Peter, and I think maybe his role got expanded later.)

Lost to the bogs I think-- but I do wish an editor or first-reader would have asked Lucy Foley this so that she could have included it in the wrap up of the story. I feel like "the groomsmen" were a sort of group character of their own, and this untied end felt to me to be a reflection of how Foley used the characters for the plot instead of leaning into them as actual three-dimensional people.
But, I guess someone HAD to die as a result of stupidness around the bog after all of the warnings that were out there about it. At the same time though.... come on? A murder AND an accidental death at the same wedding????

I was wondering the same thing! I mean, it was a big enough deal to mention he was missing and then he never gets brought up again??

Hahahahahahahaha good question. He was the drug dealer. Well that explains it. They're always a little bit off. Probably still wandering around the bogs.

It seems a lot of people asked this/wondered as well but is it weird to say he didn't matter to me? I kind of knew the ushers/partygoers weren't "important" per se so it didn't bother me. I didn't even notice he never came back (heehee)

I wondered this, too!
