He did, it's mentioned in the first book. The thing is, everyone has different experiences with ocular implants. For some people, they don't make enough of a difference to be worth it. Ridge mentions briefly his experience with them. A woman who did a sensitivity read had an ocular implant tell me it helped her hear muffled sounds, like they were underwater, so she preferred not to use hers. She was a key inspiration for this book, so I used her experience and made Ridge's experience similar to hers. He mentions it very briefly in the book, but I can't remember exactly where.
