I've always wondered how many times you edit your books before you feel comfortable enough to get them published? You say you only use 2% of what you write, that's a lot of editing! I need to tell you, I have read all of your books except a few. You NEVER fail to amaze me. I love what you do, you do it well! I can't wait until It Ends With Us this August! I get goose bumps just thinking about it!

Colleen Hoover I write SO much that I never use. When I start out writing a book, I'll write down what I'm going to write about. I know that sounds weird, but I'll sit down and make a really awful, rough draft that just tells me what I plan to write. Doing this helps me pull out plot ideas and pieces of the characters personalities, even though I never use it. And yes, I self-edit like crazy before I turn my manuscripts in to my editor.
