I have to make myself sit down, focus, and put words on the page. It's a wonderful experience when the ideas start to flow, but this usually works best when I designate a set time every day to work. Give yourself permission to designate this time. Your writing has value and it's okay to tell everyone "I'm a writer!" Family and friends will learn to respect the time you give to your work and your productivity will be its own reward.
