I love the feedback from readers about a story I've told that made them laugh or touched them in some way. While I have yet to publish fiction, I have a few completed manuscripts and find great joy in creating people out of thin air. After letting a work sit for a while, I'm always shocked at how much I don't remember about those people I created, but when I begin reading, I feel like I'm getting acquainted with an old friend.
