**SPOILER ALERT** Was anyone able to figure out the meaning of the argument that Toddie overheard with the male voices and the woman saying "stop"? I just finished the book and am a bit confused by this part. Thank you!

I thought perhaps they were meeting up for a midnight visit and got in an argument about Symmes desertion of the family and the daughter was trying to calm big brother and newly-reconnected daddy. These are just my thoughts.(less)
