Rebecc After finishing this wonderful tale, I took the title as being about the importance of being focused on the important things in life. Micah kept thinking the fire hydrant was a person, but he was almost blind to the person-to-person relationships in his life until life brought it back into focus & Tyler left us with the possibility of a happy ending(?).
Shelley The redhead by the side of the road is mentioned twice. Micah sees the redhead by the side of the road when he goes jogging without his glasses. I don't think the book ended abruptly. I think Micah had all the information he needed.

Liz The redhead is a fire hydrant on the side of the road, which he views as a redheaded little girl because he needs to wear his glasses when out running.
