Goodreads asked Ruth Musgrave:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Ruth Musgrave Gosh it is so easy to get in my own way and start over thinking something. Then it's like a maze trying to get back to a creative flow. Because I often have back to back deadlines or even competing deadlines, I've found ways to crash through it. I try writing in a new location, during this stay-at-home time that may mean moving to a different room or chair. If I've been writing in silence, then I turn on a favorite movie, TV show, or music for background noise. It's amazing how quickly it becomes white noise. When we can leave the house again, I might head over to a coffee shop or a park for an hour or two. Last, I just write something ridiculous (and pure fiction), like a list of what I'll take on a vacation to Saturn or 10 reasons why chocolate really is health food. Just an hour of creative freedom seems to do the trick for me.
