Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Martha Carr My first job was working as a teenager in the White House (yeah, that White House), selling tourist books in the North Portico. Politics was what the town ran on and I got to see from behind the scenes how deals are really made, which fascinated me. I thought it would be fun to take it to a bigger, darker place that is full of twists and turns.
