Perhaps a play on the concept of checking your vision; a daily reminder from Bella to Danny to check herself - her dreams, her goals, her vision for her future - and make sure she is prioritizing love/time over money/success.
Ruth
Honestly, that gift made absolutely no sense to me. Bella did crazy things when she was younger, but she did not need the money. Dannie may not have been rich growing up, but she never did crazy things. Maybe it was supposed to be ironic? Maybe a hopeful wish from Bella that Dannie would someday do something crazy? Not sure.

I didn't understand the significance of the "eye chart" either. I thought there would have been a back story about it. I was waiting for Danni to explain why she would give it to her and what it meant..but nope -- nada..
Vicky
There was a lot of tunnel vision with Dannie. I think this gift from Bella was "eye opening" as for the first time, Dannie really took a look at her life, her career, her love(s) and what she wanted. Bella was much wiser than we gave her credit for.
Maria
I had a hard time with that, too. The idea of an eye chart (vision - future) makes sense, but the particular saying on the eye chart didn't (money didn't seem to be a concern for anyone).

Could it be a reference to the "third eye"?

“I WAS YOUNG I NEEDED THE MONEY,” hints at the unexpected choices people make and how understanding the reasons behind them often comes only in hindsight.
Overall, the eye chart is a motif for seeing things as they really are, accepting uncertainty, and recognizing that the future can’t always be controlled or predicted.

Great question! I think it means that you do things when you are young and need the money that you are not proud of, that you would not do under ideal circumstances. How does that relate? I don't know.

I did it for the money

I think it represents that you can bring the art to life by taking a leap of faith and trust your emotions. When someone says they did something "for the money," it most likely isn't the most practical situation. However, the juxtaposition of this statement with Dannie's personality can inspire her to do things that don't always make sense and do things that may be more like Bella.
Martha
I think that it represents the reason for choices, not necessarily for monetary reasons. Danni needed the certainty of her life plans because of her brother's death. Bella's generosity was partially based on the emotional void from her parents. I'm not saying that she wanted to buy people's love.
