Butt in chair and go to work. Sounds simple enough, but you have to make it a routine, just as you were going to a job. You simply go to work, go do your job. I read a lot and do a lot of research before I get started.

Your ability to capture the attention of your readers early on and hold their attention is both addictive and inspiring. Is this a deliberate strategy based on your personal experience with reading books that become painful to get though because the plot is monotonous and boring?
