Ah! I am mid-way through Rules of Civility and I'm a big fan. I love dropping into streetview on google maps to imaging the characters in that location. Glad to see I've got A Gentleman in Moscow ahead of me. Are you working on your next novel, can you say what it is?

Amor Towles I hope you enjoy RULES through to the end; and that you enjoy AGIM next. I am hard at work on my new novel which is about three 18 year old boys on their way from Nebraska to NY in 1954. It should crashland at bookstores next summer or fall.

I have 2 parts left of your book and I can't bear to leave it. I am completely enamoured of the wonderful count and his marvellous behaviour. It is a book that makes us want to be better versions of ourselves. Were you really in investment banking? Perhaps you could give some lessons in business schools and Ivy league colleges to people of privilege as to how to wear their privilege with humility and dignity?
