Goodreads asked M.E. Browning:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

M.E. Browning The most helpful writing advice I ever received was to plot from the point of view of the antagonist and write from the perspective of the protagonist. This may seem counterproductive, but think about it. Every story starts in response to a change in your hero's personal life. I write crime fiction. If I, as the author, don't know how the crime was committed, I won't be able to guide (and occasionally trip up) my sleuth. Having that critical information will allow me to determine what evidence is important, what can be misinterpreted, and what means nothing at all-- but may appear to be important early in the story. Good luck!
