Yes! Two of my short stories will be released within the next several months.
"It's Not O.K. Corral" will appear in MALICE DOMESTIC 15: Murder Most Theatrical. Originally scheduled to coincide with the mystery conference, the anthology from Wildside Press is now slated to launch later this summer.
"Einstein Was A Surfer" was written for THE GREAT FILLING STATION HOLDUP, a crime fiction anthology inspired by the songs of Jimmy Buffett. Each of the included stories is titled after one of Jimmy's songs. Look for it from Down & Out Books in March 2021!
Writing to a theme is a wonderful way to explore new settings and experiment with different points of view or even genres. Plus, it's a heck of a lot of fun!

The most helpful writing advice I ever received was to plot from the point of view of the antagonist and write from the perspective of the protagonist. This may seem counterproductive, but think about it. Every story starts in response to a change in your hero's personal life. I write crime fiction. If I, as the author, don't know how the crime was committed, I won't be able to guide (and occasionally trip up) my sleuth. Having that critical information will allow me to determine what evidence is important, what can be misinterpreted, and what means nothing at all-- but may appear to be important early in the story. Good luck!

I'm currently working on the second Jo Wyatt Mystery. The first in the series, SHADOW RIDGE, releases October 6, 2020 and the next in the series is slated for fall of 2021. Jo and Squint are paired together again and many of Echo Valley's finest return to the page. I can't wait to be able to tell you about the trouble they encounter in this next offering!
