What ideas do you have for overcoming writers block?

Glynnis Campbell Writer's block is like trying to drive your car forward when there's a tree trunk in the middle of the road. Pressing the gas pedal over and over is only going to damage the car. Your best course of action is to back up and look for other ways. Maybe you need to change where the plot is going. Maybe your story needs to shift point of view. Maybe you need time to live in the character's brain for a while. Sometimes it helps to take a long walk, go for a drive, or take a shower. Focusing on something else for a bit can usually help you look at your story with a fresh eye.
